Originally from Russia, I traveled to the U.S. 5 years ago with my whole life packed in a little turquoise suitcase. Prior to my UX journey at General Assembly bootcamp, I graduated from two Kaliningrad Colleges with B.S. in Music Theory and Management & Economics. Attending those schools at the same time helped me to plan and manage my time efficiently. After graduation, I had a great opportunity to work as a music theory teacher for children ages 5 to 17. Connecting with children and my love for music strengthened the skills that I now apply to my work as a UX Designer: being a good listener, staying curious and empathetic in finding the best human-centered solution. My passion for UX started with reading “Don’t Make Me Think” by S. Krug. This book sparked the light in me and made me take my first step towards transitioning to UX.
